What “non-attachment” really means

It isn’t what you might think.

For many years I — like most people I believe — thought that “non-attachment” simply boiled down to “not owning anything”, or maybe more broadly it meant “not caring about anything you own”. This isn’t the whole story, and isn’t exactly correct.
